The Moving Child (Part II): Dance/Movement Therapy with Youth and Teens

The Moving Child Course Part II explores Dance/Movement Therapy (body awareness, dance, movement, embodiment based assessment and interventions) with youth and teens from ages 7-16. Here we engage with experiential learning, case studies and video content from a wide range of dance therapists, as well as content from The Moving Child Films (www.themovingchild.com).

You can learn about:

• Expanding awareness of movement processes for application with youth and working with a number of themes related to this population; including group identity, body image, social skills, sexuality, spiritual curiosity, drug and alcohol addiction and cultural and sub-cultural influences.

Dates of Part II: Jan 30, 31, Feb 1, 2023 (15 hours:1 credit)

Hours: Monday 1:30-5pm, Tuesday 9:30am-12:30pm and 2-5pm, Wednesday 9:30am-12:30pm and 2-5pm (Pacific Daylight Time). Location: By Zoom (with plenty of breaks, partner work, time moving)

Course Part II Fees: $500 + $25.00 GST = Total $525.00 (CAD dollars) (1 credit: 15hrs)
