About Our Programs

The Movement Arc offers two programs:

Our 5 month Embodiment Foundations (EF) Program (mainly focused on personal embodiment and development).

or the

10 month long Expressive Movement Facilitator (EMF) Program (mainly focused on professional skills development).

Both programs draw upon the Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies framework for movement experiencing and observation, experiential anatomy, creative dance, and neurodevelopmental movement but the EMF program goes much more in depth and from the lens of not only experiencing the somatic and expressive movement for one’s self but on facilitating it for others.

The Embodiment Foundations program is a great place to start if you are new to somatic movement and would like a broad overview understanding and experience of some of its components, as well as to just play creatively with knowing yourself, deepening your own embodiment and not having to practice facilitating anything for others! We do have students who begin with the EF program, and get so excited about the work and wish to share it with others, that they then apply for the EMF program the following year.

Consider which program is right for you! We are happy to jump on a Zoom call and answer questions. Sample curricula can also be shared with you, as you make the decision as to which program is best for your own needs and goals at this time.
